What is a tattoo? Tattoos are permanent designs on the skin. They are made with coloured inks put under the skin with a machine.

How long will it take to heal? About 1 - 2 weeks. For more information check out the Aftercare page.

Does it hurt? Sure it hurts, but not too much. The pain is best described as a hot scratchy feeling. This pain varies greatly depending on a persons constitution and the area that is getting tattooed. To see which area would hurt more, try pinching the back of your hand, and then pinching another part of your body - say the side of your neck or the inside of your arm. See the difference? This pinch test is about as accurate a guide as you can find - but remember, everyone is different, and you may be surprised that the whole process isn't quite the ordeal you got yourself worked up about.

Can I drink and/or use drugs before, during or after the procedure? It is NOT recommended that you partake of any substance before the appointment as they will change the way in which your body deals will the pain, and the subsequent healing of the tattoo. If we believe you are under the influence of any drug, we will not tattoo you. As far as afterwards is concerned, we cannot tell you what to do with you life, but we believe that drugs inhibit the way your body works and this may affect the way your body is able to heal your tattoo. Remember, that once a tattoo is applied, it is up to you to look after it.

Can I eat before or during the procedure? Yes, definitely. A small meal prior, will help calm your stomach, and raise your blood sugar levels - which will fuel your body so that it can properly deal with the procedure. You cannot eat during the actual tattooing because food in the operating room is an infection risk. If you are feeling hungry or thirsty, just ask for a break.

Can it be removed? Currently, there are ways of removal available. Be aware that most of these procedures are, if not more, painful and expensive, and NOT guaranteed to remove tattoos completely. Because of this you should always consider a tattoo to be a PERMANENT addition. If you are juggling with the idea of removal - don't get tattooed, you aren't ready.

How old do I have to be? By law you have to be 18 years or older, or 16 years or older with a written legal agreement by your guardians. Because a tattoo is forever, waiting a few years shouldn't be a problem; and we have made a moral decision NOT to tattoo anyone under 18 - even with the parents approval.

Do I have to make an appointment? Yes. All work is done by appointment only.
